As I sit down to write this blog post, my heart is filled with gratitude and awe. LoveBites, my humble home baking venture, embarked on its journey during the festive season of Chinese New Year. Little did I anticipate the overwhelming response and love from each one of you, most of whom are not just customers but cherished friends and family.
The decision to commence LoveBites during Chinese New Year was intentional – a time of joy, celebration, and the perfect occasion to introduce my creations to all of you. The response has been nothing short of spectacular, and I am genuinely touched by the immense support and encouragement showered upon this new venture.
From Corporate to Home Baking: A Year of Growth, Gratitude, and Joy
2023 marked a turning point in my life as I traded spreadsheets for spatulas and embarked on a new adventure in baking. It all began with Chinese New Year, when I decided to channel my passion into something more meaningful. Now, as the year ends, I’m celebrating Christmas in a completely different way—surrounded by trays of cookies, the aroma of fruit cakes, and the joy of sharing my creations. This season, I baked over 250 bottles of cookies, fruit cakes, focaccias, brownies, and log cakes—each crafted with love and care. My home became my bakery, my hands toughened from endless hours of work, and I learned to balance personal life with running a business. Looking back, I see a journey that has been as rewarding as it was demanding. One of the highlights of this year has been the opportunity to contribute to St. Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC) through fundraising efforts. While I couldn’t volunteer my time this festive season, it was deeply fulfilling to support a cause that’s close to my heart. I look forward to resuming my volunteer work with them after Chinese New Year. As we approach Chinese New Year, I’m excited to create festive cookies, customized CNY panettones, and local kuehs to bring the spirit of reunion and prosperity to your tables. These bakes are a celebration of tradition and the joy of giving. Through it all, the support of my family, friends, and customers has been my greatest blessing. As 2025 approaches, I’m eager for what’s next—more bakes, more connections, and more opportunities to share the joy of baking. Thank you for being part of this journey.A Sweet Competition: Chocolate Chip vs. Pineapple Tarts
One of the highlights of this journey was the delightful competition between two of our beloved treats – chocolate chip cookies and pineapple tarts. The results are in, and it’s a tie! Both chocolate chip cookies and pineapple tarts stole the show with an impressive 34 containers sold each. Not far behind was the almond cookies, securing third place with 26 containers sold.Supporting St. Andrew’s Autism Centre
Beyond the joy of baking, LoveBites holds a deeper purpose. I am thrilled to share that a portion of every sale goes towards supporting St. Andrew’s Autism Centre. Baking Marathon: From Jan 29 to Feb 7
The LoveBites kitchen turned into a bustling hive of activity from January 29 to February 7. Endless hours, 18-hour long days, mixing, baking, and packaging – a labor of love that resulted in 6901 cookies ready for sale. This doesn’t even account for the samples and rejects that came along the way. Your overwhelming response truly caught me by surprise, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the warm embrace of LoveBites by our community.A Heartfelt Thank You
